If the tapes are stored in an off-site facility, the monthly storage costs can be extremely expensive. How does the E-Mediaplus EFW Program Work?

We start with on-site shredding of your tapes, hard drives, CD’s, memory sticks, round tapes, etc. The items are normally brought to the loading dock where our truck, equipped with an industrial shredder, will shred the items under your supervision. Prior to it leaving your facility you will be provided with a Certificate of Destruction. The shredded debris is trucked to a secure facility where it is separated into recyclable material (i.e.: precious and non-precious metals) and the rest is burned at 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit, hot enough to prevent harmful air emissions and to ensure that the resulting ash is completely inert. Secure disposal eliminates the risks associated with disposing of wastes in landfills.
